Canyon County School District No. 135 (Notus), ID GO Rating Raised To 'A' On Improved Finances

CENTENNIAL (S&P Global Ratings) Feb. 7, 2019--S&P Global Ratings raised its
underlying rating to 'A' from 'A-' on Canyon County School District No. 135
(Notus), Idaho's general obligation (GO) bonds. The outlook is stable.

"The raised rating reflects our view of the district's improved financial
position, with positive financial performance over the last four years," said
S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Angel Bacio. "It also reflects increasing
available fund balance to 21%, or $620,000, in fiscal 2018, with an
expectation of continued financial stability in the upcoming years. In
addition, the district's local tax base has continued to increase, and we
anticipate further growth. "

The 'A' underlying rating for credit program reflects our view of the
district's unenhanced pledge of its full faith and credit, including all of
the taxable property within the district, and the proceeds of ad valorem
property taxes collected within the district.
