Facebook settlement claim process (Forecast)

In July 2021, Facebook agreed to pay $725 million to settle a class-action lawsuit related to alleged violations of users' privacy rights in the use of facial recognition technology. If you're a Facebook user who believes you were affected by this issue, you may be eligible to receive a share of the settlement.

To apply for a share of the settlement, you need to file a claim. The deadline to file a claim is November 23, 2021. Here's how to file a claim:

Go to the settlement website: https://www.facebookfacialrecognitionsettlement.com/

Click on the "File a Claim" button on the home page.

Enter your Facebook login information or your name and email address to find out if you're eligible to file a claim.

If you're eligible, follow the instructions to complete the claim form. You'll need to provide your name, address, and Facebook user ID or email address associated with your Facebook account. You may also need to provide additional information to support your claim, such as evidence that you were living in Illinois at the time of the alleged violation.

Submit your claim form by November 23, 2021.

Once your claim has been processed, you'll receive a payment if you're eligible. The amount of your payment will depend on several factors, including the number of valid claims submitted, the amount of the settlement fund available for distribution, and the extent to which you were affected by the alleged violation.

Note that you can also exclude yourself from the settlement if you prefer to pursue your own legal action against Facebook. The deadline to exclude yourself is also
